DTD
W3C · 1.0 (second edition)
XHTML 1.0 Strict
The Strict document type of XHTML 1.0, for pages and content exports written as XML.
About
XHTML 1.0 Strict is HTML 4 written as XML, without presentational elements such as font and center.
Good to know
- The DTD is applied to the document as given. Named entities such as or © are only known when the DTD is read while parsing, which the browser cannot do for a DOCTYPE that points at w3.org. Use character references ( , ©) or the five XML entities.

The validator loads all of these with their folder structure, so includes and imports resolve as published.
