Where xmlvalid fits better
- Large documents: up to 1 GB, streamed, where the online validators stop at 512 KB.
- Real schema sets: an XSD that includes or imports others works as uploaded, and so do the 166 schemas of the catalog.
- Privacy: the document is validated in your browser and not uploaded, so there is nothing to retain.
- E-invoices with their business rules (Peppol, XRechnung, Factur-X and more), and an API, a GitHub Action and SDKs for the same checks in CI.
- Error messages explained: what each common message means and how to fix it.
Where Liquid Technologies fits better
- Designing schemas: Liquid Studio is a desktop IDE with a graphical XSD editor, and its data binder writes code from a schema. xmlvalid validates and does not edit schemas.
- Everything offline on your desktop, including the free Community Edition.
Questions
Is my document kept?
Liquid's online validators say that data is stored on their servers and may be retained. xmlvalid validates in your browser, so the document never reaches our servers; only the API and URL monitors validate there, and they delete the document when the check finishes.
My schema includes other files. Can I validate against it?
Yes, in xmlvalid: choose all the files of the set (or their folder) and mark the main one; includes and imports resolve between them. Liquid's online validators take one schema file.
Can xmlvalid write an XSD from a sample?
Yes, with the free XSD generator, which also checks the samples against the result. The XML from XSD tool goes the other way.
