MODS 3.8
Metadata Object Description Schema
Bibliographic descriptions in MODS, used by digital libraries and repositories.
About
MODS is a simpler, element-named alternative to MARC for describing resources, common in Islandora, Fedora and digital collection platforms.
The schema imports xml.xsd and xlink.xsd, included here.
Good to know
- Authority values (marcrelator roles, LCSH subjects) are not checked against their vocabularies.
- The example is by xmlvalid.com.
Files
3 files · 67.8 KB-
mods-3-8.xsd main
-
xml.xsd
-
xlink.xsd
The validator loads all of these with their folder structure, so includes and imports resolve as published.
Example document
record.xml · 1.1 KB · valid against this schema
