About
pain.001 is what accounting and ERP systems send to a bank to initiate payments. Version 09 belongs to the 2019 release of ISO 20022 messages, which the EPC SEPA Credit Transfer rulebook adopted in November 2023.
Good to know
- Banks and schemes (EPC SEPA, CGI-MP, national usage guidelines) restrict the message further. Those restrictions are published as separate, narrower schemas or rules and are not applied here.
