GPX is the common exchange format for GPS data: Garmin, Strava, Komoot, OsmAnd and most mapping tools read and write it.

Good to know

  • Vendor extensions (for example Garmin TrackPointExtension) live in their own namespaces inside <extensions> and are accepted without being checked.
