# JUnit XML report

Source: https://xmlvalid.com/schemas/junit-xml

> The JUnit XML test report that CI systems read (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions reporters).

JUnit XML has no official schema: each test tool writes its own variant. This is the schema the Jenkins xUnit plugin validates reports against, and one of the most used descriptions of the format.

- Type: XSD
- Version: junit-10.xsd
- Namespace: `No namespace`
- Root element: `testsuites, testsuite`
- Publisher: Jenkins xUnit plugin (unofficial) (MIT), source: https://github.com/jenkinsci/xunit-plugin/blob/master/src/main/resources/org/jenkinsci/plugins/xunit/types/model/xsd/junit-10.xsd
- Validate against it: https://xmlvalid.com/validate?schema=junit-xml

## Notes

- Tools add attributes this schema does not know (for example skipped on testsuites, or file and line on testcase). A report flagged here may still be read fine by your CI.
- The example is by xmlvalid.com.
