## Why it happens

- A missing `-->`: the comment then runs to the end of the file.
- Two hyphens inside a comment (`\<!-- a -- b -->`), which XML forbids: *Double hyphen within comment*.

## How to fix it

- Close the comment with `-->`, and do not use `--` inside it.
