> Check an invoice or credit note for the UAE's Electronic Invoicing System against the PINT AE rules OpenPeppol publishes for it: the UBL 2.1 schema, the PINT Billing rules and the UAE rules, with every finding on its line. Nothing is uploaded.

## E-invoicing in the UAE in short

Ministerial Decision No. 243 of 2025 brings every business transaction of a person conducting business in the UAE into the Electronic Invoicing System, with some exclusions (sovereign government activities, airline passenger tickets, financial services that are exempt or zero rated, and for 24 months international air cargo under an airway bill). Transactions with consumers (B2C) stay outside until the Minister decides otherwise. The issuer and the recipient each appoint an Accredited Service Provider, through which invoices are exchanged and reported to the Federal Tax Authority.

Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025, as amended by Decision No. 66 of 2026, sets the dates. The pilot and voluntary use started on 1 July 2026. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more appoint a provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027; smaller businesses appoint one by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027; government entities by 31 March 2027 and 1 October 2027.

The model is a five corner one (Decentralized Continuous Transaction Control and Exchange): the supplier hands its invoice data in PINT AE, the UAE specialization of Peppol International, to its provider, which validates it and exchanges it over Peppol.

## How to check a PINT AE invoice

1. Open the [validator with the PINT AE invoice profile](https://xmlvalid.com/validate?schema=pint-ae-invoice), or the credit note one. A UBL file with the PINT AE identifier picks the right one by itself.
2. Paste the UBL or drop the file, then press **Validate**.
3. Click a rule id for what it checks.

## What is checked

The UBL 2.1 schema, then OpenPeppol's PINT AE 1.0.4 artefacts as published: the PINT Billing rules in the form the PINT AE package ships them, and the UAE rules. We compared our results with Saxon for Java on OpenPeppol's PINT examples and altered copies of them: every rule was the same.

Your Accredited Service Provider validates the invoice too and may check more, such as the registration of the parties with the Federal Tax Authority, which is not done here. One of OpenPeppol's PINT AE credit note examples fails the UBL schema as published and is left out of our comparison.

## Rules invoices break most

Each one has a page with what it checks, its test and, for many, how to fix it.

## Questions

### Is the invoice uploaded?

No. The schema check and the rules both run in your browser. Only the API and URL monitors validate on our servers.

### Does a valid result mean my provider will accept the invoice?

It means it passes the schema and the PINT AE rules OpenPeppol publishes. Your Accredited Service Provider may run further checks, and the data must match what the Federal Tax Authority holds about the parties.

### What about self-billing?

PINT AE self-billing documents use their own identifier and rules, which are not offered here yet. A self-billing invoice is checked against the UBL schema only.

### Can I check invoices from code?

Yes: the API and the command-line client with --schema pint-ae-invoice, or --schema auto for a folder of mixed invoices.
